Today I’d like to share another sneak preview of some of the information that will be in the 2012 Annual Report for OSF Supportive Care. Studies show that patients who have advance care planning have less anxiety and fear and are comforted knowing their physician has an understanding of their wishes.
That’s why OSF HealthCare has made completion of advance care planning discussions one of its primary goals the past three years and continues to have it as a priority. You can see that we have greatly improved our numbers since we started in early 2010 growing from just more than 100 completed discussions per quarter to 900 in the last quarter of 2012.
