Continuing Medical Education

OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois is committed to the professional growth and development of pediatric health professionals. We offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunities for physicians, nurses and other clinicians throughout Illinois.

Learn from colleagues and expert health professionals who have become leaders in the field of pediatric medicine as they offer insight on a variety of topics.

Pediatric Grand Rounds

OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois, in conjunction with the University of Illinois College of Medicine, hosts pediatric Grand Rounds each week. These sessions are an opportunity for clinicians to network with fellow medical staff members and residents.

The subject matter for each session is determined by current trends in pediatric medicine and new treatment options. Attendees present interesting cases or those with notable physical conditions. Guest lecturers are often invited to promote healthy discussion and generate new learnings.

Each session is recorded and offers clinicians one CME credit. Clinicians can view past recorded sessions up to three months prior and receive CME.

To sign up for the pediatric Grand Rounds distribution list and receive upcoming dates and topics, as well as access to past recordings, please contact Missy Leverton at melissa.a.leverton@osfhealthcare.org.

Pediatric Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (PFCCS)

PFCCS prepares physicians, nurses and critical care practitioners to deal with acute deterioration of critically ill pediatric patients for the first 24 hours until transfer or appropriate critical care can be arranged.

We offer three, two-day sessions each calendar year. Health professionals receive breakfast and lunch as well as 15.25 CME credits. There is no cost to register.

Completion of BOTH days of the two-day course will earn clinicians a four-year certification through the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Upcoming sessions:

Friday, September 6 AND Saturday, September 7

Friday, November 8 AND Saturday, November 9
