Lung & Pulmonology
At OSF Children's Hospital, the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of problems related to the lungs and airway. Respiratory problems in children can often be challenging and even scary. Our team provides fast, accurate diagnosis and treatment options for patients with a wide variety of breathing disorders.
Our Center has a comprehensive program that includes general pulmonary clinics, a home ventiliation program, a dedicated pediatric sleep center, an accredited cystic fibrosis center, and a comprehensive asthma clinic.
We also provide daily clinical support for the Almost Home Kids facility.
The home ventilation program has more than 150+ patients with invasive ventilation, tracheostomy, noninvasive ventilation, and technology dependency.
The pediatric sleep program has the ability to provide diagnosis of any sleep disordered breathing, noninvasive PAP titrations, ventilator optimization and weaning studies, as well as decanulation studies.
The Cystic Fibrosis Center provides care to both pediatric and adult patients as is accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Cystic Fibrosis Center is also a Therapeutic Development Network research site, which provides cutting edge research opportunities to the patients and families we serve.
While there is no cure for asthma, it can be controlled with proper treatment. Patients and families seen in our asthma clinic will receive individual attention and care including a personalized asthma action plan to meet each child's specialized needs.
