About the NICU Transfer Team

NICU Transport Team The transport team is composed of a Respiratory Therapist and Registered Nurse with a unique skill set to provide timely and specialized care during transport.

All nurses have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Neonatal critical care as well the following certifications:

  • Advanced cardiac life support
  • Neonatal Resuscitation
  • Who to refer

  • Critically ill children in need of comprehensive neonatal inpatient services requiring these critical care specialists:

    • Intermediate critical care

    • Intensive care

    • Subspecialists (Pediatric Cardiology/Endocrine/ENT/Nephrology/Neurology/SurgeryUrology)

  • How to refer

    • OSF facilities may use REF ADT21

    • Required Info

      • Patient’s name, birthdate, medical record number (if transfer within OSF)

      • Patient Weight
