Children’s Respite Care

Whether you need time to rest, recover from surgery, take a vacation or take care of other family needs, our respite care for caregivers program provides a comforting, home-like setting where your child with medical complexities can stay for up to 14 days per year.

What is respite care for a child?

Respite care for children is a temporary stay in a full medically equipped home that provides support for children with complex medical needs. It allows parents and caregivers to step away, knowing their child’s complex medical needs will be taken care of. Stays can last anywhere from 24 hours to 14 days, offering relief for families who need time to recharge, travel or handle personal matters.

Your Child’s Respite Care Stay

At Almost Home Kids, your child is cared for in a warm, home-like environment designed specifically for their unique needs. They’ll stay in a private bedroom that can be customized to their needs. To help them settle in, you can bring familiar items from home and spend time with them as they adjust to their new surroundings.

During their stay, they will receive 24/7 nursing care while engaging in fun and therapeutic activities – so their only worry is being a kid. Our compassionate team ensures your child’s medical and emotional needs are met while providing peace of mind for you and your family.

Respite Care Services We Provide

Our children’s respite care program includes:

  • 24/7 skilled nursing care tailored to your child’s medical needs.
  • Recreational and therapeutic activities to encourage socialization, engagement and fun.
  • Safe and comfortable accommodations in a welcoming, home-like setting.
  • Coordinated medical support with your child’s existing care team.
  • Transportation assistance through a medi-van, if needed, for your child and their equipment.

Is a respite stay right for you?

  • Require nursing care provided by a trained caregiver or medical professional.
  • Be medically stable, with a well-established home-care plan.
  • Not require continuous one-on-one supervision or intensive care.
  • Have equipment that is properly inspected and labeled by a durable medical equipment provider.
